Moods & Foods

The Foods-Moods Connection

Holistic Nutrition:  A philosophy of health that considers an energetic, whole being approach -- body, mind and spirit.

Holistic nutrition considers the physiological and the chemical, the emotional and the mental, the environmental and spiritual perspectives of life.   This philosophy emphasizes consuming healthy foods as close to their natural state as possible.   Holistic nutrition also suggests eating seasonally, frugally, and according to one's physiology and body type.

Energetics:  This is the understanding of energy and how if affects the body, the mind and the spirit.  On a cellular level, it is about achieving the most optimal mitochondrial ATP energy production.

From an energetic perspective, the following are some of the root causes of physiological distress, sometimes called illness, mental or physical:

  1.  Nutrient deficiencies/imbalanced diet

  2.  Toxic stress/chronic anxiety

  3.  Unhealed injuries or trauma

  4.  Sedentary lifestyle/lack of exercise

  5.  Environmental stressors/toxins

  6.  Sleep deficit

  7.  Existential/spiritual issues

  8.  Social media (Just kidding.  Kind of.  Technically that is an environmental stressor/toxin  . . .)
