Super Sunrise Smoothie . . .


This is one of my favorite healthy AM treats. This tasty orange smoothie will give you plenty of energy to get you through the morning. Loaded with Vitamin A and antioxidants like beta-carotene and Vitamin C, it is also great for liver detoxification. The protein powder adds a healthy profile of amino acids. As always, it's essential to use organic produce. Juicing with pesticide-laden food products will only concentrate toxins and undermine the healing we are attempting to achieve.

The juicing is a little more work but it will put more "smooth" in your smoothie . . .

What you will need: High speed blender Juicer (optional)

1 large orange About 6 large carrots

2 apples A handful of berries, any variety, 1 peach (optional) fresh or frozen.

Several large leaves of baby kale. Half cup of yogurt

Half cup of coconut milk

Half cup of pomegranate juice

1 teaspoon raw, organic honey

1 teaspoon fresh ginger root

1 teaspoon cinnamon

For a tropical version, add fresh pineapple chunks and frozen coconut.

or

Juice the carrots, apples, peach and if desired the orange. Blend fresh juice with the peeled orange and the remainder of ingredients. If using frozen berries, add last, then blend on ice crush setting. If desired add a few handfuls of ice and crush again.
